Viability: Any community service listed on the database system must have been in existence for a minimum of six months.
Geographic Criteria: Each community service listed in the database system must serve the residents of Calaveras County.
Non-Profits: Non-profits may be requested to show proof of 501(c)3 status.
License and Accreditations: If an industry mandates a license or accreditation for practicing a profession, the agency may be requested to show proof of such license before being listed.
Community Activity Groups: Clubs, hobby, service groups, recreation and vocational interest groups will be listed. A decision as to the inclusion or exclusion of any given listing, will be at the discretion of the Volunteer Center, with no exceptions.
Updating Cycle: Agency up-dates should be made or verified for accuracy on a need to change basis, biannually or at a minimum once a year. The Volunteer Center will not be held responsible for the accuracy of updates, but will make every effort to keep agency information current. Updates will be evaluated by either the Volunteer Center Program Manager or appropriate Volunteer Center Staff.

Potential Grounds for Exclusion/Removal: Service non-delivery or agencies that discriminate based on race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, marital status, disability, religious or political affiliations, age or sexual orientation. Organizations engaged in fraudulent or illegal activities. Agencies misrepresenting their services. Organizations that are not licensed (where licensing standards exist). Agencies existing for less than six months. Agencies who claim to be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, but whose tax exempt status has been suspended or revoked. Agencies that do not serve the citizens of Calaveras County.
Appeal Process: If an organization has been excluded or removed according to the Inclusion/Exclusion criteria or a decision made by the Database Program Manager, the director of the protesting agency may have a right to appeal by presenting the agency's case to the Volunteer Center Board of Directors.
