Who are we?

The Volunteer Center of Calaveras County is a non-profit 501(c)3 public-benefit organization, formed for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the citizens of Calaveras County. The Volunteer Center serves Calaveras County citizens and their families by connecting community based Volunteers with those in need of assistance. Calaveras County hosts many fun events and service clubs, serving youth, seniors, and the communities at large.

We maintain a countywide "Volunteer Opportunities" database via this web site for the purpose of connecting caring volunteers with opportunities to make a difference in their community. Please consider sharing your talents, skills and experiences.

Volunteer
... add something special to your life!

In addition, The Volunteer Center has created a pool of volunteers to act as a 'safety net' for our seniors, low income and citizens with disabilities. Perhaps you or someone you know would like to give someone a ride to their doctor appointment, take someone to the post office or grocery store....maybe read the labels for them! Maybe you're up to changing a light bulb, or fixing a leaky faucet, tighten the screws in the front door so it closes, cut wood, clear weeds for fire defense, take someone to the Senior Center or to senior meals for an outing, make regular phone calls to check on a neighbor who is living alone, or.......

The idea is to help our neighbors continue to reside safely in their own homes for as long as possible, and each do our part to prevent isolation.

Should you or anyone you know need assistance, or wish to become a part of the volunteer "safety net", please call the Volunteer Center of Calaveras County at (209) 754-1699.

To add a Volunteer Opportunity to the database, just fill out the Intake Form and download the Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.) right here!

If you'd like to help get one set up, just call! (209) 754-1699
